Met Office view of 0000 UTC surface analysis
A complex area of low pressure lies to the west of the UK, with fronts approaching southwest England. An occluded front lies across central Scotland and eastern England. A strong southeasterly flow is generated across the north of the UK due the influence of the aforementioned low and an area of high pressure over Scandinavia.
